Privacy policy
This website is operated by Charbel Daniel, Halifax, Nova Scotia. This page explains what the site collects, why, and how to ask about it.
What you send us
The contact form collects your name, email address, the reason you are writing, and your message. We use them only to reply to you. The launch notification form collects your email address and your tick in the consent box. We use it only to send you one email when The Problem with Problems is released, and we do not add you to any other list. If you write to contact@charbeldaniel.com directly, we use your email address to reply.
Form entries are stored in the site's Wix account, which only Charbel Daniel and his team can open, and the site owner is notified by email when one arrives. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone for marketing.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set advertising cookies. When you open a form, your browser stores a small anonymous token (in local storage) so the form can be submitted. It contains no personal information. Your answer to the analytics banner is also kept in local storage so you are not asked on every page. The only cookies this site sets are the analytics cookies described below, and only if you accept them. You can clear all of this at any time in your browser settings.
Analytics
If you press Accept on the banner, this site uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google, to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) and receives your IP address, your browser and device details, and the pages you view. We have turned off Google's advertising features and signals, and we use the reports only in aggregate to improve the site. Event data is kept for 14 months. Google may process it on servers outside Canada, including in the United States.
Nothing from Google loads unless you accept. If you press Decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stay off. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie choices link at the bottom of any page. Choosing Decline there removes the analytics cookies from your browser and stops further counting.
Hosting
This site is hosted by Wix.com, which processes visitor data on our behalf under its own privacy terms.
Your choices
To ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it removed (including coming off the launch list), email contact@charbeldaniel.com. We will respond within 30 days.
